    Tarek Sharkawy

    Hussein Fawzy is an Egyptian director. He was born in 1904, and received a degree in fine arts from an arts school in Rome. He then continued studying arts in France, and headed back to Egypt, where he started his career by working in press and advertising. Fawzy started working in film through acting in the films “Layla” and “Shagaret Aldorr”. He then founded a production company with a group of friends, which he later left and founded his own company, through which he produced many films which were mostly directed by him. Among his most famous films are “Aheb Elghalat” (I Love Vice), “Bolbol Afendi”, “Balady we Khefa” (Local and Funny), “Fatat Alserk” (Circus Girl) and “Tamr Henna”. He died in 1962 at the age of 58.
