Egyptian actor Fawzy El Gazairely was born in Alexandria on July 21, 1886, and he is considered part of the generation that pioneered Egyptian cinema. He formed a theatre troupe with his daughter, Ihsan and his son, Fouad. Among his most important films are: “Madame Loretta,” “Fe Belad Tot Ankh Amon” (In the Land of Tutankhamun), “El Mandoban” (The Two Delegates), “El Bahar” (The Sea), “El Moalim Bahbah” (Mr. Bahbah), “Abu Zarifa,” and “El Qersh El Abeid” (The White Shark). He became famous for his character, Mr. Bahbah and his daughter, Ihsan, played the role of his wife. He died in Cairo on February 23, 1974.
