Moroccan writer, actor, and director born in 1964 in Safi, Morocco. He travelled to Norway in 1986 where he directed several short films that won awards in many international film festivals. His first feature film was Le Regard (2005) which was critically acclaimed, and his second was Casanegra (2008), which won over 25 international awards and represented Morocco in the 2010 Academy Awards. His third Film Zero (2012) competed in Marrakech International Film Festival and was #1 in the Moroccan box office. |
