Add/Update Information: Kamal Abdelaziz - Cinematographer

A director of photography, documentary film director, and former president of the National Center for Egyptian Cinema, who obtained a BA in cinematography at the High Cinema Institute in 1984, then worked as a cinematographer and as an assistant cinematographer for several years before starting to work as a director of photography for the first time in the 1990 movie Supermarket, directed by Mohamed Khan, for which he won the award for best cinematography from the Film Society. Throughout his career, he participated in more than 40 feature, documentary, short, and animated Egyptian and international films. He directed many commercials, documentaries, and music videos. And on television, he participated in: Case 51, and Moon Face. He also served as a jury member at some film festivals, including the Carthage Film Festival in 2012. He worked in non-Egyptian documentaries, including the American movie Voice Like Egypt, about Umm Kulthum’s life. He also taught and gave lectures at the IAEMS Academy in the Media Production City and at the High Cinema Institute in Cairo. He directed a documentary film entitled Burning Cairo Opera House (2011), for which he received the Best Documentary Award at the Alexandria International Film Festival in 2012.
