A Syrian writer, born in 1941 in Saida, Daraa Governorate, where he received his elementary education, then obtained a Secondary Education Certificate, Science Section, after which he was sent to Egypt in 1959 to study theater directing at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Cairo and graduated in 1962. In 1966, he was sent to France to learn more about French theaters.
He worked as a director at the National Theater of the Ministry of Culture and National Guidance. Moreover, he held a number of positions, including President of the Artists Syndicate. He has written plays, essays, studies, film and television scripts, radio skits, and poetry. He began writing plays in 1964, and the first play he published was entitled "Night Visitors." Also, he presented more than twenty plays that were shown at the National Theater in Damascus.
