An Egyptian actor, born in Zagazig to a father who works in a bank. He obtained a bachelor's degree in civil aviation, worked as a pilot officer, and rose through positions until he became the director of air navigation in tourism. He is a member of the Abaza family, which presented a number of artists and writers, and he is the cousin of actor Rushdi Abaza. He wrote poetry and mastered many languages. He married actress Suzy Khairy and had a son with her.
