Hussein El Sherbiny is an Egyptian actor who was born in 1935, in Cairo. He studied psychology and sociology at the Faculty of Arts in Cairo, and graduated in 1958. He then joined the High Institute of Theatrical Arts, after being advised to do so by one of his professors. After his graduation from the Institute, El Sherbiny worked as a journalist in Al Gomhuria newspaper, then in the Egyptian television directly after its establishment. He then joined the Television Theater, in which he worked in several plays. His first film role was in 1964 in the film The Monster, after which his work in film started to increase steadily. Among his most memorable roles is that of a corrupt businessman in Raafat El Mihy's “El Avocado,” alongside Adel Imam and Youssra. In El Sherbiny's later years, complications of diabetes and a joint fracture limited his appearances as an actor and in public life, and he died in 2007, at the age of 72.
