She eventually met the Egyptian poet and painter Salah Jahine, and they married in 1967 and had one daughter (Samia Jahine), the political activist. Qattan participated in many works for film and television, including Watch Out For Zuzu which was written by Jahine, Ameera My Love, El Karnak, Zezenia and the Taha Hussein biopic The Days.
