A Lebanese singer born on October 15, 1928. Her family is said to have emigrated from Libya. In 1946, she was discovered by Halim Al-Roumi, who invited her to work on the Near East Radio, as a trained singer in the chorus. Ahmed Sedky was impressed by her voice, so he composed the song "Sahran" for her, after which she worked in the movie Every Beat of My Heart and Cleopatra's Death. Her songs were very successful and were broadcast on Cairo radio stations and other stations as well. In 1963, she settled in Beirut, where she suffered from the neglect of radio and TV stations. After suffering a nervous breakdown, she focused on performing religious chants, and she retired from singing in public. She passed away on August 6, 1999.
