Abbas Allam is a playwright born in Port Said on January 8, 1892. He was named after Khedive Abbas II of Egypt. After he graduated, he moved to the Ministry of the Interior in Cairo, where he worked for the rest of his life. He was occupied with studying law. He became a playwright, who work excessively, stay up late, and smoke a lot, but he soon got paralyzed and bedridden. Helmy is famous for his movies A Happy Day (1940), Long Live Love (1938) and I'm No Angel (1946). He died on April 21, 1950
