An Egyptian actress who was born in Assiut, in a family that was known for its high artistic sense. She graduated from the Higher Cinema Institute in 1934 and worked in the national troupe headed by Khalil Mutran. She married journalist Mohamed El-Tabii. She worked in many plays with Fatima Rushdi, such as The Little Eagle, King Lear, and My Wife's Ghost. On the radio, she appeared in the role of the mother in the series The Bitter Honey. On television, she worked in the soap operas Days of a Husband, Muhammad is the Messenger of God, and Mouths and Rabbits. She starred in the role of a strong, gullible woman in most of her films, and was helped by the sharpness of her features and the strength of her voice.
