He is an Egyptian actor, born in 1934, and obtained a Bachelor of Theater Arts in 1954. He was fluent in many languages, including English, French and Russian, and the audience knew him when he starred in Tawfiq al-Hakim's play Food for Every Mouth, which was broadcast on television in the early sixties. The peak of his brilliance was the role of the fighter Ali Taha in Naguib Mahfouz's masterpiece Cairo 30, directed by Salah Abu Seif in 1966. Then he turned to television to participate in several series, including: Egyptian Journals, and The Waterwheel. |
