An Egyptian actor and producer, born in El Mahalla El Kubra, Egypt, on January 18, 1926. He was the brother of Ezz Eldin Zulficar and Mahmoud Zou El Faqqar, a director, producer, and actor, who gave Salah the opportunity to experience acting as a child, but he did not continue acting at the time.
Salah Zulfikar graduated from the Police Academy and worked as a teacher there. Thereafter, he debuted in the movie Wakeful Eyes (1956). However, his real beginning in cinema was when director Youssef Chahine chose him to take part in the movie Jameila (1958), after which director Hassan El Emam chose him to participate in the movie Love Until Worship (1959). Salah Zulfikar is best known for the movies The Cursed Palace (1962), My Wife, the General Manager (1966), and The Other Man (1973).
Zulfikar also participated in numerous radio, stage, and television productions and his most important radio works are the soap operas Sabreen, The Trip, and Ask the Days. As for television, he presented several series, including The Return of the Spirit (1977), The Family of Mr. Shalash (1990), and Torment Trip (1982), in addition to the two religious series The Supporters (1986) and Muhammad the Messenger of Allah to the World (1993). The theater also had a share of his career, as he starred in some plays, including A Bullet in the Heart (1964) and A Single Man and Three Maidens (1972).
Salah Zulfikar received many awards, the most important of which is the First State Award in Acting for his two films Soft Hands (1963) and My Wife's Dignity (1967), in addition to receiving the Best Actor Award three times for his role in the films Dearer than My Life (1965), Secret Visit (1981), and The Peacock (1982).
In addition to his work as an actor, he worked in the field of film production and produced several films, such as I Am the Fugitive (1962), Message from an Unknown Woman (1962), and A Touch of Fear (1969). He also won the Best Producer Award for the movie I Want a Solution (1975).
His career spanned from 1956 to 1993, and his roles varied between comedy, action, and tragedy. He passed away on December 22, 1993, in Cairo, Egypt, due to a heart attack, while filming The Terrorist (1994).
