Maryam Nouhy |
Moroccan singer born in Fes in 1964. She began vocal and piano training at 8 years old. She studied at the Music Institute in Rabat for 4 years, and beside that she took courses in dance, which helped her as a performer. She attended the University of Granada, which sparked her passion for Andalusian music. In 1986, she performed for the first time in Paris. She usually sings old Arab poetry such as Ibn Arabi and Ibn Al Fared. Her career has spanned over 24 years and she has won 7 awards in France, Algeria, South Africa, and other countries.
