Syrian director and screenwriter, who began his career as a theater and TV director before focusing on films at the General Film Organization. He previously held several management positions in the artistic field. He was one of the first directors to present their work at the Cinema Organization, and his first film was titled Flower of the City (1965). He also made a number of documentaries. He is one of the most prolific Syrian directors, as his feature films has reached nineteen. He was honored at the 13th Damascus Film Festival. He was married to actress Mona Wassef, and passed away in 2004.
