Fatma Ali was a famous singer in the forties. She was one of the few who studied the art of singing at the Institute of Dramatic Music. She studied what is known as lyrical solfege at the hands of Monsieur Paviades. She studied music history at the hands of Professor Dr. Mohamed Sharaf El Din Suleiman. She was discovered by the composer Ahmed Sedky who composed her first song "I Am the Daughter of the Countryside". She presented many programs and lyrical operettas on the radio. She passed away on April 3, 1989. |
