Libyan actor and director, born in 1911. His family later immigrated to Lebanon, and in Beirut's libraries in the 1920s, he found his passion for theater. He made his stage debut playing a female role in the play Khalifa the Fisherman in the early 1930s, which was the beginning of a rich career in theater. His works include If I Were King, Princess of Al-Andalus, and Merchant of Baghdad. He died in 2008. |
