An Algerian writer who was born in 1941. He graduated from Sorbonne University, Department of Philosophy. He worked in education and held many positions, including: Secretary-General of the League for Human Rights, and Secretary-General of the Union of Algerian Writers. He writes in both languages, French and Arabic. He is a lecturer at major Western universities in Japan and the United States of America. He won many awards, from Spain, Germany, Italy and the United States of America. His novels include: The Stubborn Snail, Denial, The Villager, Procrastination, The Legacy, Penalty Kick, Divorce, Disintegration, Nights of an Insomniac Woman, and A Thousand and One Years of Nostalgia.
