His feature film debut was the 2006 best-seller novel adaptation “Emaret Yacoubian” (Yacoubian Building), which was then the most expensive film to be ever produced in Egyptian cinema history. He followed Yacoubian's success with the moderately successful action film “Ibrahim El Abyad”, and another best-seller adaptation “El Feel El Azraq” (The Blue Elephant), which was his most successful film critically and financially.
