Mounir Mourad is an Egyptian actor and music composer. He was born to an artistic family in 1922, and studied in a French school. He then joined a French university, but dropped out to pursue a career in the arts. He worked in many films as an assistant director, and afterwards started composing many songs for films, including “Haga Ghariba” (Strange Thing), “Deblet Elkhotooba” (Engagement Ring), “Awel Marra Tehebb” (First Love). He also starred in several films including “Ana we Habiby” (Me and My Love), “Mawa'id Ma'a Iblis” (A Date with the Devil) and “Naharak Sa'id” (Good Day). Shortly afterwards, he decided to become fully committed to composing, until his death in 1981 at the age of 59.

Egyptian composer and actor, Mounir Murad was born in 1922 to a deeply artistic family. He studied at French schools from a young age and later enrolled at the French college, however he never finished he studies, deciding to pursue a career in the arts. Murad worked on a number of films as an assistant director, then started to compose songs for film. Some of his most famous songs include: “Haga Ghariba” (A Strange Thing), “Debla El Khatuba” (The Engagement Ring), “Awal Mara Tuhib” (First Love), “Dhek wa Le’b wa Gid wa Hub” (Laugh, Play, Soberness and Love). He also starred in a number of films including: “Ana wa Habibi” (Me and My Love), “Mawead maa Eblis” (A Date with the Devil), and “Naharak Sa’eed” (Good Day). Murad eventually decided to focus on his composing and became a distinguished composer. He died in 1981 at the age of 59.
