He was born in the city of Karbala in 1913 to a conservative family. He began his theatrical activity in 1929. He founded the Arab Acting Troupe in 1932. He is best known for the plays The Homeland and the House, and Government of Qaraquz. His activity was not limited to the theater only, but also to the cinema, as he participated in the pioneering movie Alya and Essam (1949) as an actor and assistant director. |
