He is a Russian writer who is considered one of the fathers of Russian literature. He was born on April 1, 1809 in Russia and died on March 4, 1852 in Ukraine.. Among his most famous works are the novel Dead Souls and his short story The Overcoat, in addition to the two comedies The Inspector General, and Engagement. The Inspector General was adapted in Egypt through the movie The General Inspector by Ismail Yassine in 1956, as well as the series A Stranger in the City by Mohamed Reda and Salah El-Saadani in 1979.
