An Egyptian singer and actor, born in 1939 in Bab Al-Shaariya neighborhood in Cairo Governorate. He earned a Bachelor of Commerce in 1965, then a diploma of the Higher Institute of Arabic Music in 1960. He played a small role in the movie Me and My Mother in 1957, but his real breakthrough was when he co-starred in the movie Beware of Love (1959). He appeared in several films, most notably: Sad Melody, and Strangers Meeting.
