An Egyptian singer and actress. She started her artistic career as an amateur singer, where she applied in the competition conducted by director Mohamed Karim to choose the heroine of the movie The White Rose, but she was not lucky because of her young age. She became a famous radio singer, and proved herself in the presence of singers such as Umm Kulthum and Asmahan, which prompted the Odeon Company to produce a record for her. She entered the field of cinema through the movie Behind the Curtain in 1937. After which she signed with musician Mohamed Abdel Wahab and director Mohamed Karim to star in the movie Love Is Forbidden (1942). She also participated in many musical operettas such as Scheherazade.
