Haitian actress born on October 28, 1923 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti’s capital city. She lived in Dakar with her husband, poet Lucien Lemoine, whom she married in 1964. She worked at the Maurice Laroche Commercial Institute and the Red Cross in Port-au-Prince. She began her training as an actress at the Performing Arts Center of the French Institute of Haiti before she joined the Conservatory of Dramatic Arts in Port-au-Prince. Then she traveled to Paris, where she met Jean-Marie Serreau, who offered her the role of the queen in the play The Tragedy of King Christophe by Aimee Césaire, after which she performed many roles in theaters. She acted in the 1983 movie Amok!. She died on July 9, 2011 in Dakar, Senegal.
