They are two German brothers. They were academics, linguists, cultural researchers and writers. Who together collected German folk stories and compiled them into a single book during the nineteenth century. They are considered one of the most famous novelists, and their stories were widely spread among the people, such as the story of Cinderella, the Frog Prince, Hansel and Gretel, Rumpelstiltskin, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Little Red Riding Hood, and Rapunzel. The two brothers spent their early lives in the German town of Hanau, their father died in 1796 and his death affected them for a long time. They both attended the University of Marburg, which was the main reason they were drawn to German folklore, to which they had dedicated their lives. With their goal to search for folk stories, they developed a methodology that was followed in collecting and recording those stories that later became the basis for folkloric studies. Between 1812 and 1857, the first collection was revised and published several times, and its number grew from 86 stories to more than 200. In addition to their works in the field of folk stories, books on the German myths and the myths and the Ashkanah. In 1838 they also began writing an integrated German dictionary, but they died before completing it. The collection of popular stories spread widely. It has been translated into more than 100 languages around the world and is known as the Brothers Grimm stories.
