Andrée Chedid lived in Paris since 1946 when she was twenty-six years old - she married a biologist and gave birth to Michel and Louis Chedid, a famous French singer, and she has a grandson, the French rock singer Mathieu Chedid.
Andrée Chedid began her literary career in 1943, and her works in film include the The Sixth Day (1986).
