An Iraqi actress and the sister of the actor Taha Salem. She started her career with her first theatrical work with the Al-Shula Troupe, which was founded in 1959 and was called The Theater Stars. She acted in two plays, prepared and directed by Ibrahim Al-Khatib. She moved to the Modern Artistic Theatre troupe, one of the most important theater groups in Iraq. She is known for the play Uncle Vanya, written by Antoine Chekhov and directed by Abdel Wahed Taha. In 1961, she made her first appearance on television in a drama directed by Khalil Shawky. Her best works include Years Old (1976), The Collector (1968), and Lanterns (1968).
