Toqa Hesham |
An actor and theater director who was born in Cairo in 1934. He obtained a Bachelor of Commerce in 1955, then a Bachelor of Theatrical Arts Institute in 1956, before he traveled to study theater directing in London in 1962, then returned to Cairo and worked as a professor at the Institute of Acting. He made his debut through directing and acting in the play The Harvest Nights (1967), after which his works continued between directing and acting, most notably the play King Lear (2001), and the series Umm Kulthum, and A Man in the Time of Globalization. He passed away in 2013 after a battle with cancer.
