An Egyptian artist, he was born in Cairo and studied music at the Cairo Conservatoire. He graduated and worked as a lecturer at the institute until 1992. After studying directing at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, he traveled to Italy on a grant from the Ministry of Culture for two years, and obtained the highest qualification in directing. He worked as a singer at the Egyptian Opera House from 1974 until 1992, and he sang in many competitions and festivals. He appeared in a number of works, including the play Hallucinations (1989), the film Agent No. 13 (1989) and the TV series The Stray (2005), and The Fox (1993).
