An actress, who was born on April 14, 1941 in the state of Chokwa, India. Julie traveled to England to complete her education and then traveled to France to improve her French and to become a multilingual. She debuted her cinematic career with the role of the wife of the English actor Leslie Phillips in the movie Crooks Anonymous (1962). In 1963, Julie worked with director John Schlesinger, who gave her career a huge boost after he chose her to play a role in his movie Billy Liar and then starred with him in the movie Darling (1965), which won her an Academy Award for Best Actress in a leading role, in addition to winning the Golden Globe and BAFTA awards during her career.
