An Algerian actress who was born in the city of Blida. She worked as the dean of the Algerian theater and became one of the founders of the Algerian theater with Mahieddine Bachtarzi. She participated in many artistic activities during the French colonialism, and after the revolution, she joined the National Liberation Front until Algeria gained its independence in 1962. She participated in several famous plays. She became known for the movie The Winds of the Aures (1966), directed by Mohammed Lakhdar-Hamina, for which he won an award at the Cannes Festival in 1966. She performed the role of Amina in Al Sokareya, the third installment of Naguib Mahfouz trilogy. She worked in 70 plays and 20 films, in addition to many television roles. Her last work was the play The Watchmen in 1991.
