An Egyptian comedian, born in August 1941 in Aswan Governorate. His father immigrated to Cairo during the First World War. He was mentored by Ali Fayez Zaghloul, one of the founders of the Egyptian radio, and he nominated him to appear in the City Lights concerts. He was approved as a singer on radio and television at first, but he later turned to comedy. He began working in that field in 1967 on the Egyptian-Israeli war front during the War of Attrition. His gained fame in the seventies, and his comedy career continued for more than thirty years. He appeared in some productions, including the films Heaven Beneath Her Feet, and El-Labbana Street, as well as the play She's Spoiled, Sir, and the series Man on the Edge. He died on March 31, 2015 at El Galaa Military Hospital in Cairo, at the age of 73.
