An American composer and musician who studied music at Western Michigan College and obtained a master's degree in 1955. He is considered one of the pioneers of music in the twentieth century. He composed about 150 musical pieces throughout his career and won many awards. In the 1990s, a documentary film was produced about his life and artistic career.
