Add/Update Information: Ghassan Jabai - Actor

A Syrian writer and actor, born in 1951. He studied at the university in Latakia, specializing in Arabic literature. He continued to work in theater and acting throughout his university studies, after which he was sent in 1975 to study theater directing at an institute in Kyiv, where he graduated in 1981 with a master’s degree in Theater Directing. He directed the plays Goat Island (1994) and New Ethics (1998), then wrote and directed the play Stairs (2003), which was banned ten days later. He wrote two short story collections, “Banana Fingers” in 1994 and “Mud” in 1995, and a poetry collection, “Speech Foam” in 2011. He wrote the book “Culture and Tyranny” in 2015. His credits include Fire Spear (1999) and Hill of Ash (1997).
