A British actor, producer and director, born on August 2, 1932 in West Yorkshire. He studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. He began his artistic career in the theater, and is best known for performing Shakespeare's plays. He was nominated for eight Oscars during his career. Among his most famous works are: Lawrence of Arabia in 1962, The Lion in Winter in 1968, The Stunt Man in 1980 and Troy in 2004. He died on December 14, 2013 at Wellington Hospital in London after a long struggle with illness. |
