Toqa Hesham |
An Egyptian author and writer, born on November 24, 1909, in the city of Arish, North Sinai Governorate. He graduated from the Department of Philosophy at Cairo University in 1934. He obtained a master’s degree in 1939 and a doctorate from the University of Basel, Switzerland in 1945. He established the Egyptian Institute for Islamic Studies. He taught at Ain Shams University and was chosen as assistant dean of the Faculty of Arts until 1966. He worked as a cultural advisor to the Egyptian Embassy in Spain and participated in the establishment of the Institute of Islamic Studies in Madrid. Among his works that were adapted into a movie is Avicenna (1982).
