Add/Update Information: Mahmoud Jarkas - Actor

A Syrian artist, born in Damascus in 1933 AD in an old neighborhood known as the Kurdish neighborhood. He attended the primary stage of education in the neighborhood school. He lived his childhood deprived of his father, as his mother was the only breadwinner for the family, and he began to form his knowledge through the stories of theatrical characters, and his love for theater and acting helped him to do so. His beginning was in 1958 when he was in the Syrian army, where he learned the art of acting in the military theater. In the sixties, he joined a club called Al-Azbakeya, after which he presented, accompanied by the club director, a play entitled I Want to Kill, with the participation of many writers. This work belonged to the popular resistance sector, and at that time, the spirit of the Algerian revolution was igniting in the hearts of the masses. Thereafter, his works continued in the theater as well as on TV and on the radio.
