Biography

An Iraqi actor, born in 1956, Samawah, Gharbey District. He completed his studies at Al-Talia Secondary School in 1975. He entered the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Baghdad in 1976. During his years of study at the Academy, he took the stage to act in the play Lebanon Is...Read more Stalking and then the play The Epic of Gilgamesh directed by Sami Abdel Hamid, The Life of Galileo, and Koriolan, which were written by Brecht and directed by the late Awni Karumi between 1977 and 1978. In 1980, he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and worked as an art teacher in his hometown. In 1983, he worked in military service. He taught at the Teachers’ Preparation Institute in Samawah and took the initiative to form a theater group at the institute. He presented the play The Martyr to be the first work of this group which was written and directed by him. In 1994, he directed the play The Robot Cemetery (1999). He obtained a doctorate, and his thesis was called "Exoticism in Theatrical Performance". He passed away on May 4, 2008.
