An Egyptian writer, born in Suez on August 28, 1911. Thanks to his father, he developed a love for knowledge and obtained his secondary certificate at the age of nineteen. He joined the Faculty of Arts, Department of History, and graduated in 1934. He worked as a French-Arabic translator at the Credit Bank, and during this period, he participated with a group of his colleagues in forming a committee called the “University Committee for the Dissemination of Knowledge.” He translated a chapter on Spain and Portugal in the book "Islamic Heritage" and during this period, he published his first historical book "The Islamic East in the Modern Era".
He then obtained a master's degree with a thesis entitled "The Arab Conquest of Morocco" in 1937. When the Second World War ended, he returned to Egypt in 1945 and was appointed as a teacher in the Department of History at the Faculty of Arts. In addition to his work at the university, he was delegated by the Ministry of Education in 1955 to supervise the Culture Department in it. He passed away on March 17, 1996.
