Amanda Seyfried, born in Pennsylvania in 1985, is an American actress, singer and songwriter. She began modeling at age 11, and soon booked recurring roles on "As the World Turns" and "All My Children," both long-running soap operas. Seyfried was hired to play Lilly Kane in the TV series "Veronica Mars" as the murdered best friend of main character and teen private eye Veronica Mars, played by Kristen Bell. Creator Rob Thomas was so taken with Seyfried's performance that he wrote into more episodes than he originally planned. She made her film debut in 2004 when she played bimbo Karen Smith brilliantly in the teen comedy "Mean Girls." Since then she's acted in a number of successful films and television shows, including the HBO series "Big Love" about a polygamous Mormon family. She played a young seductress opposite Julianne Moore and Liam Neeson in "Chloe" (2009). In 2010, she played the lead role in "Letters to Juliet" from director Gary Winick. In her biggest role yet, Seyfried played Cosette in the film adaptation of the lauded musical "Les Miserables" alongside Anne Hathaway, Russell Crowe and Hugh Jackman.
