An Iraqi actor, born on July 1, 1937. He is a pioneer of the theatrical, film, television, and radio movements in Iraq. He wrote and directed dozens of plays in Iraq and abroad, in addition to hundreds of radio series, cultural programs, and radio plays inside and outside Iraq. He also wrote many skits and TV series.
He worked in the Iraqi press, then he founded several acting troupes. He became a member of the Vanguard Youth Troupe and secretary of the Youth Liberation Theatrical Troupe. He appeared in hundreds of television series, plays, and more than twenty films, including Al-Qadisiyya (1981).
He is one of the founders of the Iraqi Artists Syndicate and of the National Acting Troupe. He held the position of Associate Director at the Directorate of Folk Arts and Theaters, affiliated with the Ministry of Youth. He also won several awards for his roles in film and television. He became a founding member of the Iraqi-Australian Culture Center and the head of the Iraqi-Australian Friendship Association in Australia.
