An Egyptian singer, born on March 29, 1931 in Cairo. She sang in the movie The Big Clown directed by Youssef Chahine. She became famous during the forties and fifties of the twentieth century. She worked on duets with the artist Abdel Halim Hafez. She worked as a broadcaster in the Arabic section of the Italian radio, and married a colleague of Lebanese origin, with whom she had a daughter. She died at the age of 56, and was buried in Italy on July 11, 1987. |
