A writer, born in Mansoura, Dakahlia, in 1926. He obtained a BA in law at Cairo University in 1951. He worked as an editor for Sabah Al-Khair and Rose Al-Youssef magazines. He is a writer of short stories, novels and plays. He also wrote many literary articles. He married the writer Fathia El Assal, and he is the father of the artist Safaa Al Toukhy. Some of his literary works have been adapted into films and television series. He died on February 26, 2001. Among his works: The Black Rabbit, and The Woman Who Talks To Herself A Lot.
