An Irish writer and novelist, born in London, England. He's known for his young adult fiction novels. He won second place in a television scriptwriting competition in Ireland, with his script titled A Day in the Morgue. Darren published his first book, entitled “Cirque du Freak,” which later became the first book in a twelve-part series called “The Saga of Darren Shan” before he began writing a series of novels called “The Demonata".
He also published the novel "The Thin Executioner", "The City Trilogy", and "The Saga of Larten Crepsley", in addition to the zombie series entitled "Zom-B," and a novel entitled "Lady of the Shades". Darren's works have been translated into many languages. His credits include Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant (2009), The Stephen Kingdom (2021), and The Book Quiz (2007).
