He is an American actor who was born on June 4, 1956 in Harlem, New York City. After playing the role of a lion in the play, The Wizard of Oz at school, he realized that he wanted to become an actor. Later, he attended the New York Performing Arts Academy. He was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor for his role in Jelly's Last Jam (1992). He is known for The Thing (1982), Armageddon (1998) and Crash (2004).
