American author, born on December 11, 1937, in Grayling, Michigan, USA. He wrote several books that have been translated into many languages and achieved great success. His novella Legends of the Fall (1979) is his most-known work, and it was adapted into the 1994 movie by the same name. He died on March 26, 2016, in Patagonia, Arizona, USA.
