Shaimaa Saied |
A Syrian theater actor, born in Damascus in 1897. He came to prominence in the first half of the 20th century. In 1909, he joined Al Malik Al Zahir School ( Zahiriyya Library) and was chosen to be the school’s preacher. The President of the Republic, Shukri Al-Quwatli, sent him to Cairo in 1946 to continue his studies and knowledge. He founded the Fine Arts Club in Damascus in 1930 and was the pillar of the theatrical movement in the period between the two world wars. He made this club his home until the last days of his life. His credits include Tailor for Women (1969) and The 6 O'Clock Operation (1970). He died in 1990.
