Amy Adams is an American actress and singer who was born on the 20th of August, 1974 in Vicenza, Italy.
Adams’ film debut came in 1999 when she starred in “Drop Dead Gorgeous”. Following her role in that production Amy Adams moved to Los Angeles, California. After arriving in LA she was cast in Fox’s TV series spin-off of “Cruel Intentions”, “Manchester Prep”. However the series was later cancelled.
Adams’ role in “Junebug” is regarded as her breakthrough role. The role was widely praised by critics and even landed her an academy award nomination. Following that production Adams proceeded to act in a series of other works.
Some of Adams’ most recent film productions include “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian”, “Charlie Wilson’s War” and “Underdog” to name a few.

Her breakthrough role was in the 2005 independent film “Junebug”, for which she received critical acclaim and an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
Adams subsequently starred in Disney's 2007 film “Enchanted”, a critical and commercial success, and received a Golden Globe nomination for her performance. She received her second Academy Award and Golden Globe Award nominations the following year for her role in “Doubt”. Though she has appeared in a range of dramatic and comedy roles, Adams has gained a reputation for playing characters with cheerful and sunny dispositions. Adams starred in “Sunshine cleaning” with Emily Blunt and Alan Arkin, and the following year appeared in “Night at the museum: Battle of the Smithsonian”. She appeared in “Julie & Julia (2009)” followed by “Leap year (2010)”. Her recent role in “The Fighter” earned Adams her third Academy Award nomination, her third Golden Globe Award, second BAFTA Award and fifth Screen Actors Guild Award nominations.
