Evangeline Lilly is a Canadian actress known for playing Kate Austen in ABC's hit television drama "Lost" (2004-2010). She plays Tauriel in "The Hobbit" trilogy (2012-2014). Her early resume includes small, uncredited roles on various television shows, including "That '70s Show" and "Smallville." "Lost" was her first speaking role. Her performance earned her a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Drama Series (2006), as well as a Golden Globe nomination for best leading actress in a drama. Her other film credits include "The Hurt Locker" (2008) and "Real Steel" (2011). Before going into modeling and acting, Lilly served as a missionary in the Philippines, a flight attendant with Royal Airlines, and got a degree in international relations from the University of British Columbia. She has one child with boyfriend Norman Kali.
